by Nikki Cleveland

Bandon Dunes is not only a favorite among locals on the Oregon Coast, but their six beautiful golf courses, perched on dunes 100 feet above the ocean, are renowned by golfers from all over the world. Over the summer, the coastal resort has even hosted the 120th U.S. Amateur championship on their Bandon Dunes course from August 10-16th.

Best golfing on the Oregon Coast

In the same nature of ancient Scottish links, Bandon Dunes built their scenic golf courses on a stretch of grassy dunes perched above the rugged Oregon coastline. The Bandon Dunes and Pacific Dunes courses run along the bluff for about 2.3 miles with rolling greens and a dozen holes. The new Sheep Ranch course was added in 2020 with 18 holes and breathtaking ocean views.

Their other courses include Bandon Trails, which begins on a large dune, leads through open meadows and upland forest, and then finishes in the dunes; their Old Macdonald course works its way through the dunes to the ocean with amazing views throughout. Golfers can also tee it up at the Punchbowl, a 100,000-square-foot putting course, or at the Practice Center, which houses two full practice ranges as well as a clubhouse.
