Explore Further With ATV Rentals On The Oregon Coast

by Nikki C

When you envision the Oregon Coast, what comes to mind? Beautiful ocean views? Wide open sandy beaches for miles?

While we do have several beaches to explore, there is also a very underrated stretch of the Central Coast: the dramatic, wind-sculpted sand dunes within the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. These massive sand dunes are best explored via hiking trail or on an exhilarating ATV ride.

Though most people don’t have their own quad, there are several companies on the Oregon Coast where you can rent one. Plenty of options are available for both beginners and kids as well as more experienced riders. These are a few of the highest rated companies that offer ATV rentals on the Oregon Coast.

Torex ATV Rentals

South of Florence, Sand Dunes Frontier offers guided tours as well as quad rentals through the on-site Torex ATV Rentals. They are one of the only companies on the Oregon Coast that offer ATV rentals with direct dune access, meaning you won’t have to worry about hauling the ATVs to the sand dunes to ride.

Rentals are available all year including 1-3+ seat machines and mini quads for kids. Price is per hour and includes helmets, goggles, ATV permits, and a safety orientation. The larger machines will require a valid driver’s license.

Sandlake Tsunami ATV Rentals

Further north on the coast, Sandlake Tsunami ATV Rentals offers a variety of quads near Pacific City, Sandlake, and Tillamook. The rentals come fueled up and include all the necessary equipment such as goggles and helmets. They also include the use of a trailer to transport your quads, and allow extra time for you to travel and unload the ATVs. Renters will need their own car or truck to tow the trailer with the ATVs, however they have an SUV rental available for an extra fee if your vehicle is not capable of towing.

Ridin’ Dirty ATV Rentals

Ridin’ Dirty Rentals is family owned and operated out of Winchester Bay. They cater to beginners and first-time riders but offer ATVs and UTVs for all ages and skill levels. They do not have direct access to the dunes like Torex ATV Rentals, but they transport the machines to the staging area for you just 2.5 miles away. You can ride with them to the staging area or follow behind in your own vehicle, however, there is a parking fee.

Steve’s ATV Rentals

Steve’s ATV Rentals has two locations in Southern California as well as a location in North Bend, Oregon. They offer a wide assortment of ATVs including options for kids, beginners, experts, UTVs and RZRs. They offer an early bird special discount for those checking in by 9 a.m. and riding from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. There is also a group discount for those riding in groups of 10 or more.

Spinreel Dune Buggy & ATV Rentals

Spinreel Dune Buggy & ATV Rentals is operated out of North Bend as well. They are the only company that offers “We guide, you drive” tours (though temporarily not available due to COVID), as well as “Follow Me” tours where the guides will tag along behind you. Those wanting to explore on their own will prefer the off-road vehicle rentals including 1-6 seat vehicles, youth quads, and more powerful quads for those 18 & older.
