Stay & Play At Winchester Bay RV Resort

by Nikki Cleveland

There are dozens of RV parks and campgrounds along the Oregon Coast (and not to mention countless hotels) that provide a perfect home base while exploring the area. On the Central Coast, Winchester Bay RV Resort offers bayfront RV sites as well as cabin rentals with beautiful views of the water.

The resort sits just off Highway 101 in Winchester Bay, a small port village along the bay and Umpqua River. Not only does the location provide spectacular views but it also puts you just steps away from excellent fishing, boating, and more.

Next door, Salmon Harbor Marina offers over 500 moorage slips for both short and long-term occupancies. Their services include two boat ramps and a full-service fuel dock. Those without boats may prefer joining Winchester Bay Charters for a fishing excursion. There are a few bait and tackle shops nearby where you can pick up any supplies you might need.

The various sites include Waterfront Sites facing the harbor/ocean/river, Waterfront Sites facing Winchester Point, Large and Small Interior Sites, and Super Sites, to name a few. For those without an RV, Winchester Bay Resort also offers two waterfront cabin rentals that can sleep up to four people each. The cabins come furnished with a kitchenette, queen bed and futon, and flatscreen TVs.

Both cabins have private bathrooms with toilets; the Chinook cabin is the only one equipped with a shower. The cabins, as well as the RV sites, have easy access to the one-mile walking path that follows around the resort.
