Newport Cafe Is A Must-Visit On The Central Coast

by Nikki Cleveland

If you’re driving through Newport on Highway 101, you’ll likely spot the small building that houses Newport Cafe. This local favorite, easily recognizable by its cartoon crab sign, is a staple for huge portions of seafood, giant burgers, and all-day breakfast.

Newport Cafe is well known for their “Monster” 8 lb burger, but that is only where their delicious offerings start. They also serve an extensive breakfast selection, including homemade waffles, pancakes, and stuffed French toast, as well as breakfast burritos, eggs benedict, omelets, and classic country breakfasts.

For lunch or dinner, you may prefer one of their sandwiches, burgers, soups and salads, steaks, or fish & fries. Those looking for fresh seafood will not be disappointed with the Yaquina Bay Oyster sandwich, or crab and shrimp louie salad. Try a cup, bowl, or whole quart of their homemade clam chowder; it can even be served in a bread bowl!
