Showbiz News & Gossip…

Bruce Willis was reportedly asked to leave a Rite Aid in Los Angeles for refusing to wear a mask.

Whoops.  Bruce was drawing the ire of fellow customers in L.A. for walking around maskless in the pharmacy. Willis eventually left without buying anything.  The actor had a bandana around his neck that he didn’t pull up, for whatever reason.

The anger of Willis’ fellow Angelenos is understandable. The city is a coronavirus hotspot, where the pandemic has done considerable damage. More than 10,000 people have died from COVID-19 in Los Angeles County alone. Willis got the message.

He shared: “It was an error in judgment. Be safe out there everyone and let’s continue to mask up.”

SEX AND THE CITY STARS TO MAKE MORE THAN $1 MILLION PER EPISODE

The stars of the upcoming Sex and the City revival at HBO Max are about to have plenty of cash to buy cosmopolitans. According to multiple sources, Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis are all set to bank over $1 million per episode for the 10 episode series. All three are set to star in the show as well as serve as executive producers.

… The revival, which is titled And Just Like That…, will follow Carrie Bradshaw (Parker), Charlotte York (Davis) and Miranda Hobbes (Nixon) as they navigate love and friendship in their 50s. The half-hour series is set to begin production in New York City in late spring. Kim Cattrall, who played Samantha Jones in the original series, is not returning.

JEOPARDY ANNOUNCES NEW GUEST HOST SCHEDULE
The lineup of new Jeopardy hosts is so long, it could use a category of its own now. Producers of the game show announced Wednesday that Katie Couric, Aaron Rodgers, Bill Whitaker and Mayim Bialik will serve as guest hosts this season, replacing Alex Trebek, who died in November at age 80 of pancreatic cancer. Couric will be the first female to ever grace the lectern as host. Rodgers announced his guest host gig Tuesday, calling Trebek one of his “idols.” Ken Jennings, who holds the record for the longest Jeopardy winning streak, served as the first host since Trebek’s death. There will also be additional guest hosts announced later.

HARRY AND MEGHAN REPORTED TO HAVE QUIT SOCIAL MEDIA
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have reportedly abandoned social media as they focus on their new roles in the US. Harry and Meghan, who amassed more than 10 million followers on their official royal Instagram account, are said to have become disillusioned by the “hate” they encountered online. The Sunday Times reported that the couple, who stepped down as senior royals last year, had no plans to use social media for their non-profit organization, Archewell, and were very unlikely to return to the sites in a personal capacity.

ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER SHARES POWERFUL VIDEO
Arnold Schwarzenegger is a bodybuilding and action movie icon. He’s also the former governor of California with a troubled family history in his home country of Austria, including a father who was in the Nazi party during World War II. Schwarzenegger found himself appalled at the January 6 attempted insurrection in Washington DC which left 5 dead. On Sunday Schwarzenegger released an eloquent and moving video to share the Capitol Hill insurrection to Kristallnacht — an event that took place in November 1938 in Nazi Germany, when members of Hitler’s “Brownshirts” burned synagogues, damaged Jewish businesses, schools, and homes. In the space of two days, the Nazis killed 100 Jews. • VIDEO

… He went on to describe living with a former Nazi father after World War II in Austria, saying he “was surrounded by broken men drinking away the guilt over their participation in the most evil regime in history.” The actor and former governor added: “Trump sought to overturn the results of an election by misleading people with lies. And I know where such lies lead.”

ARMIE HAMMER EXITS J LO MOVIE
Armie Hammer is leaving a movie he was supposed to star in opposite Jennifer Lopez, and it’s all over a scandal involving alleged DMs of his wah-wah which he’s now addressing. The Social Network star told TMZ: “I’m not responding to these [b.s.] claims but in light of the vicious and spurious online attacks against me, I cannot in good conscience now leave my children for four months to shoot a film in the Dominican Republic.” The flick Armie’s referring to is Shotgun Wedding, which was supposed to start filming ASAP. A source close to the production tells us Armie’s role will be recast.

… As for what this is all about — it has to do with alleged messages from his Instagram account that were leaked this past weekend, which appear to show Armie messaging women in very graphic and explicit sexual terms, while also discussing cannibalism. The posts have not been confirmed as authentic.

… A separate exchange that was captured and posted by the person who first spread these alleged DMs appears to show she made the whole thing up, but it’s hard to tell if she’s talking about the Armie posts, or something unrelated.

The long-awaited Lucille Ball biopic might have a new Lucy and Desi Arnaz. Variety reports that Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem are in talks to play the married couple in an upcoming movie. Aaron Sorkin will direct the film, called Being the Ricardos, which he also wrote. Cate Blanchett was originally attached to the project, as recently as 2017, when Amazon acquired it. Ball has been played on TV and stage before by Gillian Anderson and Sarah Drew.

… Sorkin’s film is said to take place during a Monday night table read and live-audience shoot of an I Love Lucy episode, when Lucy and Desi’s relationship nearly unravels.

Almost fourteen months after Ryan Reynolds posted an image on social media confirming he’d held talks with Marvel Studios over Deadpool 3, Kevin Feige has finally made his first public comments on the hotly anticipated superhero blockbuster. Feige has confirmed that Deadpool 3 will be R-rated — like the first two — but filming isn’t going to start until 2022 at the earliest.  Fans are wondering if 2021 is now the sequel to 2020 for all of us…uggghhh.

TIM BURTON’S ADDAMS FAMILY SHOW WILL REPORTEDLY BE R-RATED
The Addams Family might be mysterious and spooky and altogether ooky, but the exploits of the gothic clan have always been aimed at an all-ages audience, from the classic 1960s sitcom to the movies of the ’90s to the recent animated reboot. Tim Burton’s upcoming reimagining of Gomez, Morticia and their kids, however, may make a major change to the franchise and come with an R-rating.

… That’s coming from a source who says the Addams Family live-action TV series will be aimed at a mature audience and rated R. Plot details are thin right now, but the source says the series will focus on Wednesday Addams and explore how the teenager deals with the world of the 2020s.

… No word on where the new series will land, but late last year Netflix was trying hard to get it.
